Dora Holzhandler

Dora Holzhandler was a French-born British artist known for her naïve style, influenced by Jewish and Buddhist themes. Her work, which includes both painting and ceramics, often depicted intimate scenes of family life, love, and spirituality.
Holzhandler studied at the Anglo-French Art Centre in London from 1946. She had her first solo exhibition at the Beaux Arts Gallery in London (1954). Her practice involved creating vibrant, symbolic artworks that reflected her personal beliefs and experiences.
She exhibited widely, with solo shows at institutions such as the Langton Gallery (London) and the Saint Mungo Museum of Jewish Life and Art (Glasgow). Her artworks are held in collections including the Jewish Museum (London) and the Museum of Modern Art (Glasgow).
