Dr Thomas Glendenning Hamilton

A licensed practitioner and respected medical authority, Dr Thomas Glendenning Hamilton turned to Spiritualism following the death of his son in 1918.

Glendenning embarked on a quasi-scientific analysis of paranormal phenomena, using contemporary photographic equipment and an empirical experimental methodology, which led to his international reputation within spiritualist associations.

This intact volume documents Dr Hamilton’s quasi-scientific experimentation and is a rarity of phenomenal quality. The only other known examples are housed in Spiritualist museum collections. This particular volume contains over 27 photographs, alongside considerable text and explanation, and features images, not only of the camera set-up, but also of spirit materialisations and paranormal happenings.
