OW Pappy Kitchens

1901 - 1986 (Mississippi)

Post-retirement Southern storyteller whose comedic narratives often drew from local oral history and whose epic parable, The Saga of Red Eye the Rooster, became an international phenomenon. The artist is represented in the exhibition by a large-scale narrative work, Busing A Big Issue, 1975
