HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE AN HISTORIC TERRACOTTA DOUBLE FIGURE BY CERAMICIST SEYNI AWA CAMARA, A RARE UMBRELLA FORM BY FIBRE ARTIST JUDITH SCOTT, TWO SCULPTURAL PORTRAITS BY POST-SPIRITUALIST ANNA Zemánková AND AN ASTONISHING INTERPRETATION OF GOYA’S Dona Tadea Arias de Enriquez BY SURREALIST AND POP ARTIST, Eva Švankmajerová.

OTHER NOTABLE PARTICIPANTS INCLUDE AVANT GARDE PAINTER ELFRIEDE Lohse-Wächtler, HEALERS HENRIETTE ZÉPHIREMMA KUNZ AND CECILIE MARKOVÁ, AND THE LEGENDARY EMILY KAME KNGWARREYE, WHO RELUCTANTLY STARTED PAINTING IN HER 80S, YET WENT ON TO BECOME THE MOST CELEBRATED INDIGENOUS PAINTER IN HISTORY.

CONCEIVED AS AN HOMAGE TO PEGGY GUGGENHEIM’S LEGENDARY ALL-FEMALE ARTIST SHOWS AT HER ART OF THIS CENTURY GALLERY, MORE 20TH CENTURY WOMEN CELEBRATES THE INNATE DIVERSITY OF THE ALTERNATIVE CANON OF ART, PRESENTING MATERIAL OF THE SELF-TAUGHT ALONGSIDE THEIR ACADEMIC CONTEMPORARIES.
